Dancer, historian and choreographer Ligia Pinheiro will explore Baroque music as inspiration for styles of dance from classical to modern in a SUNY Oswego Focus on Faculty performance with pianist and music faculty member Juan La Manna at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 6, in Sheldon Hall ballroom.

Pinheiro, dance students and La Manna will feature Baroque pieces used in many different settings since their inception, from grandiose Romantic renditions to contemporary rock versions. The husband-and-wife team of La Manna and Pinheiro performed two years ago on the Sheldon ballroom stage, highlighting how gesture and narrative are innate to dance and its history.

Tickets for the afternoon of Baroque music and dance are $8 ($5 for students) and are available at all SUNY Oswego box offices, online at tickets.oswego.edu and by calling 315-312-2141.

Parking is included in the cost of the ticket, and is available in the lots adjacent to and across Washington Boulevard from Sheldon Hall. Patrons with disabilities needing assistance should call 312-2141 in advance of the show.
