Hippo Dreams
When I die
If God is able to take some time off
from playing with his dogs
I will ask him to see that I come back as a Hippopotamus
With three children of course
I will laze in the water
Lost in Hippo dreams of glory
and I will graze all day on sweet grass
I am ready to stare down any trespassers
who fail to show respect
My legs will work like the piling hammer
Crushing all enemies in my path
I will be glorious without beauty
Loving to my tribe and
Confident in my stride
It’s a reasonable request.
