CountryMax, locally owned with 18 stores across New York State, is bringing back its popular in-person consignment sale after taking a year off due to COVID concerns.
This event draws equestrians to the original Farmington store from all over Upstate New York.
“We’re thrilled to bring back one of our most popular events,” says Brad Payne, Director of Sales. “The equine community is such a huge part of what we do and to see lines out into the parking lot an hour before we open is always incredible.”
For sellers, it’s a great way to get cash for unused or outgrown equipment. “Kids grow, adult tastes change, and people are always looking for something that’s new to them,” adds Payne. “This is the perfect place to sell that extra piece of tack or older saddle…it’s new to someone and they’ll get a lot of use out of it.”
Consignments can be dropped off through Sunday, February 13 at one of six CountryMax locations – Fairport, Farmington, Henrietta, Ontario, Spencerport and Webster. Visit countrymax.com to download the consignment form.
For buyers, the deals are hard to beat. “It’s no secret that horseback riding can get expensive, especially if you buy new gear on a regular basis,” says Lexi Gianni, a horse owner and Event Coordinator at CountryMax. “Even before I worked here, I always came to the consignment sale for the best deals of the year.”
What can first-timers expect?
Much of the CountryMax Farmington store gets cleared out to make room for hundreds of consignment items, including Western and English saddles, blankets, bridles, bits and halters, chaps, breeches, boots and show clothes. It’s like one giant tack room for two days.
Please note: This is a very busy indoor event. Per New York State, face coverings are a requirement at all CountryMax locations.
“If you’re in the Rochester area equine community, you know about the Consignment Sale and chances are you’ve been or know someone who does,” says Payne. “It’s a tradition our customers talk about all year long!”
CountryMax, founded in 1984, is a family-owned business that carries a tremendous variety of healthy pet foods and pet supplies, small animals, home, lawn and garden, wild bird and equestrian essentials. CountryMax now operates 18 locations across New York State.
