The "Q & U" wedding was held recently, and is a traditional Kingsford Park Elementary School curriculum provided in the Kindergarten classrooms of Mary Lynn Maxwell, Robin Tryon and Carolyn Slobodian.
The blending of the letters Q and U to form words has become a memorable learning experience for Kindergarten students over the years.
According to Mrs. Maxwell, the students paraded down the hall in their fancy clothes with their Mr. Q and Miss U puppets, sang wedding songs and walked right down into the school café, where they enjoyed a lovely "sermon" given by "Reverend Maxwell".
The students also sang songs and enjoyed a delicious piece of QU's wedding cake!
"We even brought gifts for the happy couple that began with their special sound...quilts, quarters, quarts, q-tips, questions, and quacking ducks," Maxwell said. "We danced and enjoyed the reception so much!"
