With a point season that began back on May 3, the Kartway has completed just four shows since that time, with another on tap this Friday, July 12.
Due to the overwhelming number of rainouts to this point, the 'Battle at the Bullring' scheduled for Aug. 2 at the Kartway will now be a point show. The yearly event, which is typically a non-point program, will feature time trials to line-up the main events for the evening with heat race points being awarded for time trials and the usual feature points for main events.
With that said, a total of six point events remain on the 2013 schedule with track championship night slated for Aug. 23 presented by HRW Construction.
Looking at the champions standings, Joshua Ostrander currently leads the Sr. Blue Clone title chase with a 49-point edge on Tyler Trump. Ostrander has won three of four feature events this season.
Dylan Trump is on top of the Jr. Silver Clone championship, also with three feature wins, by 36 markers over Carl Emmons III.
Alex Losurdo is another three-time feature winner this season, as he holds a 46-point lead over both Ryan Perkins and Seth Perrin in Jr. Blue Clone.
The Gold Plate division shows Matthew Barbour at the top of the standings with three feature wins and a 42-point lead on Ryan Shanahan.
Dan Kapuscinski has won all four Stock Heavy point events in 2013 and leads Ron Abbott by 75-points in the series standings.
Joe Hayden currently leads the way in Clone Heavy by just 12-points over Chris Knight. Hayden has one feature win so far this season.
Clone Light features a tight battle as Bruce Simmons leads Takota Jacobson and his daughter Kaylynn Simmons by just eight championship points.
With two feature wins in 2013, Cris Lane is the championship leader in Animal over Ron Billings.
Corey Norton has a 72-point edge in the Open class with three feature wins after four events ahead of Alan Lane.
Stock Light sees Jake Sivers with a 23-point margin over Tom Perrin. Sivers has one main event win in 2013.
Finally, DJ Shuman is the driver on top of Clone Super Heavy as he leads Dick Dann by a slim 7-points. Shuman and Dann each have one win this season.
Friday night's action at the Kartway will see pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. with hot laps at 6:30 p.m. and racing at 7:30 p.m.
