The Charles E. Riley Elementary School Spelling Bee rocked the house on January 12th, hosting 33 candidates competing for three qualifying spots to the Regional Spelling Bee in March- hosted by the Palladium Times. Parents, teachers, and fellow classmates filled the all-purpose room is support of the competitors.

Fourth-grader Mitchell Treasure spelled his way to success with the word C-L-A-N-D-E-S-T-I-N-E. Ending the Charles E. Riley Spelling Bee in an uproar of applause and cheer followed by hugs and high fives.

Fifth-grader Lauren Isham was a stuff competitor and fought for her spot as our second place winner. Madison Dawson, our fearless competitor came in third place as a third-grader representing Charles E. Riley. We also had a fourth runner up, sixth-grader Liam Hinman who didn't go down without a fight.

Charles E. Riley School is proud of the members who will be representing our school and we wish them the best of luck as they practice and learn new words in preparation of the Regional Spelling Bee held on March 17th. The students will be competing for a spot to the 2018 Scripps National Spelling Bee held in Washington D.C.

These students are truly magnificent!
