"Each year, we are thrilled to present the Collage Concert, a fast-moving show that celebrates large and small ensembles in the music department, faculty performers and our most talented students," said Rob Auler, a music faculty member and pianist who is this year's event producer.
Auler said the Waterman stage would be divided into three performance areas: A spotlight focuses on one performance, and moves smoothly to the next with minimal interruption and with applause only after each half of the concert. The concert will juxtapose performances in jazz with classical, large groups with small, faculty with students, he said.
"We couldn't be more proud of our music students here at SUNY Oswego, and it's an honor and a pleasure to share the stage with them for this great event," Auler said.
"The Collage Concert has proven to be a great incubator of musical talent," Auler said. "Past music department student performers have gone on to professional musical careers in New York City, commercial work in Nashville and graduate study in prestigious programs such as the (University of Rochester's) Eastman School of Music."
Admission is $10 ($5 for SUNY Oswego faculty, staff and students, as well as for those 60 and over or 21 and under). Tickets are available at all SUNY Oswego box offices, online at tickets.oswego.edu or by calling 315-312-2141.
Parking for this event is included in the price of the ticket and is available in the employee lot in front of Culkin Hall -- the college's administration building off Route 104 -- as well as in the rear half of the lot behind Hart and Funnelle residence halls and the adjacent commuter lot.
Patrons with disabilities should call 315-312-2141 in advance of the concert for assistance.
