Scott was born in Fulton, NY, the son of Martha (Kells) Shaw, and the late Glenn Laurent. He was a life resident of the Cato-Hannibal area.
He was a graduate of the Cato-Meridian High School.
Scott was a specialist in custom auto body work and had been employed at the Kranze Service Center in Hannibal. He was a talented auto body artist and airbrusher, and used his skills to transform many vehicles during his career.
He was a member of the Hannibal VFW, the Hannibal Sons of the American Legion, and the IOOB.
Scott was a life-long learner, who always sought to gain new knowledge about many subjects, and he passed his love of learning down to his daughters.
He is survived by two daughters, Sarah Laurent of Chittenango, and Laura Laurent of Fulton; his mother, Martha Shaw; a sister, Pamela Dreissigacker; and three grandchildren, Colton, Emberly, and Asher.
A Celebration of Scott’s life will be held at 3:00 Friday, March 24th, at the IOOB, 1218 County Route 3 in Hannibal. Friends are invited to bring a dish to pass.
Arrangements are in the care of the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, Oswego.
