On Friday, Nov. 21 and Saturday, Nov. 22, canned goods and toys will be collected at both the men’s and women’s hockey games. The women take on Potsdam Friday at 3 p.m. and Saturday at 11 a.m. The men play in a SUNYAC faceoff against Brockport 7 p.m. on Friday. Spectators are encouraged to donate a canned good and/or toy, which will be distributed to Human Concerns Center Food Pantry on East Fourth Street in Oswego. Toys will be given to local families in need this holiday season through the Greater Oswego County United Way.
“I am very excited for the Lakers to be able to support these causes again and I encourage spectators to please donate this weekend,” Diane Dillon, women’s hockey coach and SEFA planning committee member said.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.tickets.oswego.edu, by calling the box office at 315-312-3073, or visiting the box office located near the plaza entrance and the ice arena. Regular hours of operations are Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The box office will be open for same-day ticket purchases two hours prior to scheduled men’s hockey contests and one hour prior to schedule women’s contests. Prices remain fixed at $8 for the public to men's ice hockey games while women's ice hockey will be $4 for adults, $2 for students from 5 to17 years old and free for those under 5 years of age.
Tickets may also be purchased in-person at the SUNY Oswego Downtown location between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday, 10 a.m to 5 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
The Holiday Skate event will once again be held on Sunday, Dec. 7 and will have two sessions. Session one is from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and session two runs from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. There is a $3 admission fee which includes skates. A hockey jersey will be raffled off during each session and chances are 2 for $1. Both the men’s and women’s teams will join skaters as well. There will be a special visit by Santa Claus at the event.
