Students in a SUNY Oswego landscape photography class will display their work exploring humans' relationship to the natural environment, starting with a free public reception for the artists from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, at Tyler Art Gallery at Oswego State Downtown.

The exhibition, titled "Imaging the Landscape: Forms, Histories and Interventions," will run through Oct. 4 at the gallery in Oswego State Downtown, a branch of the College Store at the corner of West First and Bridge streets in Oswego.
Students in Peter Cardone's intensive three-week summer course in landscape photography traveled to Chimney Bluffs State Park, Fort Ontario and SUNY Oswego's Rice Creek to complete a series of thematic projects derived from the history and contemporary practice of landscape photography. The artists include Taylor Clock, Kathy Hilton, Robyn Mills, Kristen Pareti, Ana Paula Retore and Harold Vaz.
Hours for Tyler Art Gallery at Oswego State Downtown are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays during Farmers Market weeks, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
For more information about this or other exhibitions at the Tyler Art Gallery family of galleries at SUNY Oswego's Penfield Library (during renovation of Tyler Hall), Oswego State Downtown and SUNY Oswego Metro Center in Syracuse, call 315-312-2112.
