Oswego Rotary Club’s annual winter garment collection is making a difference to people of Oswego County.

A goodly number of coats have been contributed this year and about 100 have already been distributed to people who need them. The garments are kept in Oswego at the Salvation Army Center for Worship and Service, 73 West Second Street, and given free of charge to people who go there in need of winter apparel.

The collection continues to the end of November. Collection barrels will be found at Wayne Drugs, Paul’s Big M, The Palladium-Times, Edward Jones, and Oswego Y. All children’s and adults’ sizes of winter garments are welcomed but there is a particular shortage of larger adult sizes.

There are opportunities for people to stand with the famous Salvation Army kettles during the Christmas season. Volunteers from families, businesses, offices, and organizations may call 315-343-6491 between 10:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, for more information.
