The Greater Oswego Fulton Chamber of Commerce (GOFCC) Ambassadors Committee and Oswego City officials welcomed a new business to the city and celebrated the new owners of a neighborhood favorite.
On Monday, December 11, members of the Greater Oswego Fulton Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors Committee celebrated the opening of Texas Roadhouse with a ribbon cutting. Just two days later, the GOFCC Ambassadors Committee reconvened at Dutcher’s Tavern (formerly the Front Door Tavern) to commemorate the business’s new ownership.
Members of the chamber’s Ambassadors Committee and representatives of various local officials were on hand to welcome the Texas Roadhouse team to Oswego.
“The Assemblyman is so excited to see a new steakhouse in town,” said Brittney Jerred of Assembly Minority Leader Will Barclay’s office. “Congratulations to the Texas Roadhouse team, and welcome to Oswego!”
Texas Roadhouse held its grand opening celebration shortly after Monday’s ribbon cutting at 4pm. The restaurant is situated in the Oswego Plaza on State Route 104.
“This has been a long time coming,” said General Manager Justin Haus. “We’re so glad to be in Oswego!”
Hours for the new steakhouse are 4pm to 10pm Monday through Thursday, with extended hours on the weekend.
The Front Door Tavern has long been a neighborhood staple in Oswego; the bar this week celebrated its new name, Dutcher’s Tavern, and new owners Donna and Kenny Dutcher. The business, which is located on the corner of E. Utica St. and E. 10th St., recently changed hands after 50 years as the Front Door.
“It’s a great neighborhood bar—they know everybody,” Mayor Billy Barlow said at the Dutcher’s Tavern event. “It looks great, and it’s comfy and cozy in here. I’m sure it will be busy here for years to come. I’m happy to be one of their patrons come January 1st.”
The Dutcher’s Tavern ribbon cutting is the last on the schedule for Mayor Billy Barlow, whose term ends on December 31.
