Born in Oswego, He was the son of Diann (Ralph Meeker) Sova of Oswego and had attended Cicero Schools.

He was previously employed with New Syrmana Glass and was an avid race car fan.

He enjoyed camping, hunting. and horse racing.

Surviving besides his mother Diann and stepfather Ralph are his daughter, Melinda (Lorenzo) Austin of Mississippi, three sisters, Eileen Sharkey of Oswego, Kimberly Scruton of Oswego, Michelle Hudson of Oswego, a stepsister, Kris Smith, longtime girlfriend, Tracy Martel of Oswego, nieces, and nephews Dustin, Breanna, Kayla and Cody Sharkey, Johnna Scruton, Robby Hollister, and Melissa Hoey.

He was predeceased by his stepsister, Kimberly Hoey, and his father, Walter Scruton Sr.

Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.
