Wanda May Dehart, 80, of Oswego, passed away peacefully on Wednesday at Oswego Hospital.
Born in Evansville, Indiana, Wanda was the daughter of the late Adolphus E. and Thelma I. (Berry) Grace. She was the beloved wife of James T. Dehart, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and partnership.
Wanda was a devoted mother to her daughter, Danielle N. Perry of Oswego, and her son, Shawn Thomas Dehart of Maryland. She is also lovingly remembered by her son-in-law, Richard Perry, and her daughter-in-law, Clare Dehart.
She leaves behind her sister, Joyce Gail Fortenberry of Illinois, five cherished grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who added so much joy to her life.
Wanda was a firecracker—full of spirit and never one to hold back. You always knew where you stood with her, and her honesty, humor, and fierce love for her family left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.
In keeping with her generous nature, Wanda chose to donate her body to medical science—hoping to help others even after her passing.
At Wanda’s request, there will be no formal services or calling hours. If you’d like to honor her memory, donations may be made to the Oswego City Animal Shelter, 621 East Seneca St., Oswego, NY 13126—an organization close to her heart.
Arrangements are in the care of Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
