Write a commentIn support of Climate Justice and the Zonta Says NOW campaign, Zonta Club of Oswego is hosting "Fabricating Change: Converting Textile Waste into Valuable Materials & Understanding the Consequences of Apparel Manufacturing" on April 29 at 5:30 PM in Room 122 of the Shineman Science Center at SUNY Oswego.
This event is free and open to the public, with parking available in Lot 8 (on the south side of the Shineman Science Center).
Join us for an insightful lecture and discussion with Dr. Juan Hinestroza, Rebecca Q Morgan '60 Professor of Fiber Science & Apparel Design and Interim Chair of the Human Centered Design for Cornell University's School of Human Ecology. Dr. Hinestroza will be discussing the direct impact of textiles and apparel manufacturing and the conversion of textile waste into raw materials for other manufacturing processes.
In support of Zonta International's "Zonta Says NOW" commitment to gender-equal climate action, Dr. Hinestroza will also share personal stories and observations of the textile manufacturing field's impact on the environment and people.
