A Story from Aqua Spa

A gorgeous 75 year old woman was in the sanctuary today for a facial treatment.

When she came to the desk to check out, I complimented her on her stunning results... "not bad for a 75 year old" she mused!

She went on to remind me to LIVE. "Don't forget to LIVE". The years just fly on by, she said.

That really hit home for me, as my partner & I were just having that conversation. It's insane to us how the days just morph into weeks, then months, and years...

You hear it from most older folks. Our parents, in their 80's send the same message in their kind words & loving hugs everytime we leave them.

"Don't work too hard", "Do something nice for yourselves", "Don't FORGET to live".

It's so easy to forget to live. We simply get up each day and do the “next right thing”... we work on ourselves, our businesses and our passion projects, thinking we will have all the time - later - or when we retire.

It's funny how the universe works because just the day before my partner had asked me to "pencil him in" for a couple of hours and we left the office early and trekked to a local beach. He brought a picnic and my favorite frosty beverage and some extra warm things in case it was windy.

We ate and chatted about our day and how nice it was to break away... we walked the beach, stepping on the crunchy clam shells and laughing out loud... we met a nice lady and her little dog. The "puppy love" was most appreciated!

By the time we got back to the car our shoulders were lower, our nervous systems were calmer and we had connected in all the ways that we were craving.

It really does make all the difference to get away from the monotony and the busywork... cuz, hey - living a little won't change the workload, but it will sure make it easier to go back to!

Well, I'm here to send that same tender message to you - from a human who is just as apt to forget to live... (and more of a crime) - apt to forget to live in JOY.

Don't get me wrong - I'm happy, in good spirits every day... but I TOO can do better. And why wouldn't I want to??!! How about you??!!

Yours in joy.
