This is a final call for entries for local artists. Let the beauty of the Salmon River and the surrounding landscape inspire you.
Digital images of your art must be received by midnight on Saturday, August 8th. Selections and awards for the show will be made by Claire (Ellsworth) Ames, an award-winning North Country artist and educator in Watertown.
Artists may submit up to four art pieces for one entry fee. Cash prizes, including a $300 Best of Show award, will be awarded based on originality, craftsmanship, and theme adherence. The number of awards and categories will depend on the actual work accepted.
The submission deadline has been extended by one day. Artists who cannot photograph their work may visit the arts center on August 8th between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to have a volunteer help photograph it. Please note that receiving assistance with photography does not guarantee acceptance into the show. After the juror carefully reviews all entries, artists will be notified of acceptance via email. Interested artists can find complete guidelines and details in the show prospectus posted on the Salmon River Fine Arts Center website.
An opening reception, which is free and open to the public, is planned for Friday, August 28, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The exhibit will be on display from August 27 through October 10 at the Salmon River Fine Arts Center, located at 4848 N. Jefferson St. in Pulaski, NY. This timing coincides with the peak of the town's fishing and tourism season.
Special thanks are extended to our corporate sponsor, Douglaston Salmon Run, as well as Fulton Boiler Works of Pulaski. It is with their commitment and support for artists and the community that this show is made possible.
