Write a commentThe Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center would like to announce its program Birds on the Move.
This program, which is open to participants of all ages, will happen on Sunday, October 11th, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. The focus will be on the fall bird migration. By August, this migration has begun and continues as late as November for certain species.
Participants can expect this program to include both indoor and outdoor portions. Not only will attendees learn the basics of bird migration in autumn, but they’ll get to focus on ducks, warblers, and hummingbirds. Information on how humans can positively impact these species during their journey will also be provided. This event will conclude with a guided trail walk to discover which species of birds have paused their migration to rest in the woods or wetlands.
This program provides a unique opportunity to learn about the different species of migratory birds that visit the 4-H Environmental Education Center. The program fee is $4.00 per person and up to $12.00 per family. Advanced registration is encouraged, as space is limited.
