Colette M. Badger formally announces her candidacy for the Oswego County Legislature, District 20.
“Government should help people access the basic resources they need to pursue their goals, including affordable food, housing, and education. Everyone should have the opportunity to gain the skills needed to shape their own future and to live under a government that makes laws for the people. These are principles rooted in the Declaration of Independence,” Badger said.
Badger’s campaign priorities include improving accountability and transparency between the County Legislature and voters; ensuring access to safe, affordable health care; promoting fiscal responsibility and fair taxation; reducing food and housing insecurity; maintaining infrastructure that supports safe, strong communities; and protecting democracy, justice, and integrity while guarding against corruption in government.
Badger is a graduate of Oswego High School. She earned a Diploma in Nursing from Crouse Irving Memorial School of Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. She brings a lifelong commitment to caring, listening, and service. An experienced registered nurse and health care leader, Badger has led several cardiac rehabilitation programs to national certification.
Badger and her husband, John, live in the Town of Oswego. She is asking constituents for their support, and ideas, as she begins her campaign for the Oswego County Legislature, District 20. She looks forward to meeting with residents, listening to their concerns, and working together toward a better future for Oswego County. “We do better when we all do better,” Badger said.
