SUNY Oswego and its students in a variety of majors have partnered with CiTi BOCES in an alternative learning program to help boost disengaged Oswego County high school students who may have lost hope of earning a diploma.
Three SUNY Oswego students active in academics, leadership and community service will receive the 2016 SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence -- the highest student recognition through the statewide university system.

Both candidates for graduation in May, Ernest and Taylor work full time in paid co-op positions with the port and SUNY Oswego's Agricultural Testing and Analysis Laboratory. They grade and test New York state-grown grains -- corn, soybeans and wheat -- at the port prior to the exchange between farmer and buyer, and do higher-level analysis in the college's lab. Their mentor, biological sciences faculty member Anthony Contento, said the Port of Oswego also supports seven student internships in the sciences and business. U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer is spearheading the port's application to gain U.S. Department of Agriculture designation as a certified grain inspection facility.
SUNY Oswego bachelor of fine arts candidates will present their work starting Tuesday, April 5, in the first of three semester-ending exhibitions aimed at showcasing senior art students' finest work.
SUNY Oswego will hold three ceremonies to honor the class of 2016 at its 155th Commencement on Saturday, May 14. Each ceremony will have its own featured speaker.
