Lukas Olsson of the No. 14/19 Oswego State baseball team has been named to the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week for the week ending April 8. This is the second consecutive week that the Lakers have had a player earn this honor, with teammate Mike Dellicarri receiving the award for the prior week.
As the Lakers continued their 11-game winning streak, Olsson played in four of Oswego’s five wins during the week. Olsson was dominant at the plate, batting .500 (4-for-8), scoring five runs and notching a .714 on-base percentage. The sophomore took his time in the batter’s box, drawing five walks as well.
Behind the plate, Olsson recorded a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. The catcher also helped the pitching staff to victory in every game he appeared.
Olsson and the Lakers will look to continue their winning streak as they host St. John Fisher College at 4 p.m. on Tuesday at Laker Baseball Field.
