CNY Arts Center welcomes Jeff Sawyer in concert again with Rick Bush and a showcase of students from Jeff’s music class at Cayuga Community College Thursday, April 21 at 6:30 pm. The concert will be held onstage in the Arts Center at 11 River Glen Drive on the Cayuga College Fulton Campus.

This collaboration of College faculty and CNY Arts Center onstage highlights the work of CCC students. Pianist, keyboard player and composer Jeff Sawyer has been a staple on the upstate New York music scene for years with numerous recording sessions and appearances as a solo musician as well as a keyboardist for various pop and country acts. Sawyer has seven solo albums to his credit, including his latest release “Journey Home”, which has been received with much critical acclaim.

Sawyer has spent over three decades both in the studio writing, producing and engineering, as well as on the stage. All seven albums were written, recorded and produced in Sawyer’s studio, Blue Island Studios owned and operated since 1992. Sawyer’s past musical endeavors includes entertaining well known people such as President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, Frank McCourt, Al Roker, accompanying Golden Globe winner, Brian Dennehy, jazz vocalist Karen Oberlin, Nancy Kelly and many others.

Rick Bush has been performing for more than 25 years with such groups as The Misfits, Dam Dog Blues Band, Ron Spencer and the Night Crew and The Moss Back Mule Band. As a musician with those bands, Rick has opened for well-known national artists such as Orleans, Lynard Skynard, Savoy Brown, The Charlie Daniels Band and J Geils. Rick has taught in the Fulton City School District for more than 28 years and is currently a sixth grade teacher at Fairgrieve School.

The guitar concert will also feature guitar students who will join Sawyer onstage and entertain the audience with their new skills as members of his music class taught at Cayuga Community College.
