
Eleanor M. Boyzuick, 88, a lifelong resident of Oswego passed away on January 19 at the Oswego Hospital.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of Murphy and Mary (Piazza) Tremack. She attended Oswego schools. As a teenager she was renowned for her beautiful singing voice winning a number of talent competitions at the Strand theatre in Oswego. She was employed as a waitress at Savas' Grill in downtown Oswego and was also a welder in a local factory during World War II. Eleanor was a devoted wife and loving mother. She encouraged her sons to pursue their passion of family, career, music and sports. She became a prolific gardener and was known for her beautiful flower garden at her home. She also enjoyed playing the piano and harmonica.
Surviving are her son, Peter (Flora) Boyzuick of Evans, GA, a sister, Nina Caruso of Oswego, four grandchildren, Michael (Susan) Boyzuick , Thomas Boyzuick, Christy (Michael) Clark and Peter (Tallie) Boyzuick, six great grandchildren, Brandon, Brenna, Joel, Katie, Tanner and Wesley, and a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Boyzuick.
She was predeceased by her husband, Michael J. Boyzuick in 1980, her son, Michael D. Boyzuick, in 2013, and her brother David Tremack in 2003.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
