Erin’s Angels of CNY is proud to participate in Hunger Action Month, a nationwide initiative led by Feeding America that occurs every September to raise awareness about hunger and food insecurity in the United States and encourage action to combat it.
With thousands of children in Central New York facing food insecurity, especially on weekends when school meals aren’t available, Erin’s Angels is calling on the community to take action. The organization provides weekend meal bags to students in need and is using this month to amplify its mission and invite public support.
“This month is about more than awareness, it’s about action,” said Sheila Dion, Founder and Executive Director of Erin’s Angels. “We’re asking our neighbors to step up and help us ensure no child in our community goes hungry.”
In a recent blog post on the Erin’s Angels website, the organization outlines several impactful ways to get involved:
- Purchase a ticket and attend “We Care Wednesday” night with the Syracuse Mets on September 10th. Erin’s Angels receives $5 for every ticket purchased by visiting https://tinyurl.com/23v5me5z
- Attend the Erin’s Angels Open House on September 18th, 5pm-7pm, 219 County Route 57 Unit 4, Phoenix, NY 13135
- Purchase and donate cereal cups – A simple item to pick up while shopping to place in food bags.
