Oswego County Workforce New York (OCWNY) hosts its annual fall job fair on Thursday, Sept. 17 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Fulton Community Ice Arena, located at 609 W. Broadway.

The event brings local employers, training institutions and job applicants together for a variety of career and training opportunities.

“The fall job fair provides an excellent opportunity for residents to connect directly with local employers, explore career opportunities and learn more about available positions across a wide range of industries,” said Oswego County Legislator Mary Ellen Chesbro, District 10, Chairwoman of the Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee. “We’re pleased to support initiatives that connect our workforce with meaningful employment opportunities and help strengthen our local economy.”

Employers from a variety of industries will be in attendance, including human services, civil service, healthcare, transportation, trades and manufacturing.

“We’re excited to welcome job seekers back for another job fair,” said Oswego County Workforce Development Director Rachel Pierce. “Attendees will have the chance to connect with employers who are actively hiring, while also learning about free employment and training resources available to them. These services can help individuals explore new career opportunities and develop the skills needed for today’s workforce. Resources include resume assistance, online learning opportunities, training funding and more.”

Information will also be available about Oswego Build, a pre-apprenticeship training pathway to local union trades. Job seekers can also learn more about ACT WorkKeys, an assessment to earn a National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC). A nationally recognized credential, NCRC demonstrates essential workplace skills in applied math, workplace documents and graphic literacy. It is highly valued by employers across multiple industries as a reliable measure of workplace readiness.
