
Frederick Carlton Shappee Jr., 86, a resident of Minetto, passed away peacefully, January 29, 2015 at Morning Star Residential Care Center.
Born in Minetto, NY, he was the son of the late Frederick Carlton Shappee Sr. and Edith Quinn Shappee. Carl was a US Army Veteran from 1952-1956 and was a recipient of the Korean Medal. He worked in Quality Control for Sealright for 33 years retiring in 1990. He was a recreational pilot and flew his own plane that he built. He was a Past Master of Hannibal Lodge of the F & A Mason's for over 45 years. He was a Noble of Media Shrine Watertown. A member of the American Legion and an EAA Member.
Surviving are his wife, Mary (Post) Shappee; daughters, Carla (Steven) Salisbury of Minetto and Susan (Robert) Caruth of Syracuse; a son, Jeffrey Shappee (Denise Lucas) of South Carolina; three grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Salisbury, Derek Salisbury, Katie Caruth; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, James Shappee and a sister Donna Gougeon.
Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, at the Nelson Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Minetto Methodist Church. With a Masonic Service prior. Spring burial will be in Fairdale Cemetery.
