The Fulton Art Association is pleased to announce the winners of the seventeenth High School Invitational Art and Photography Show held at The Art Scene, CNY Arts Center in Fulton on May 9, 2026.
Eighty-four students from high schools in Fulton, Hannibal, Oswego, and Phoenix school districts submitted 105 pieces of artwork in 12 medium categories. The show was created to help provide encouragement and guidance to high school artists and provide them a venue to display their talent and artwork. Cheryl Green, an aide at Fulton Jr High and instructor at CNY Arts who specializes in oil painting, drawing, and watercolor, and William DeMott, an art professor of drawing and printmaking at Fulton’s Cayuga Community College, SUNY Oswego, and Monroe Community College judged the show.
The award for Best of Show was given to Madison Mansfield (12th grade – Oswego) for her graphite entry in Drawing A entitled Billie Eilish.

In the Three-Dimensional category, Isabel Buterbaugh (10th grade – Hannibal) received 1st place for her “Giraffe” entry (above). Second place was given to Madison Gregory (9th grade – Hannibal) for “Frog Pond.” Honorable Mentions were given to Marnie Crough (12th grade - Hannibal) for “Whispering Garden”, and Chloe Elleman (10th grade – Hannibal) for “Strawberry Oasis.”

In the Acrylics medium, Halina Cole (11th grade – Fulton) was awarded 1st place for “Bevs At Sunset” (above). Second place was given to Reagen Southworth (12th grade – Phoenix) for “A Series of Seascapes.” An Honorable Mention was awarded to Adelyn Evans (10th grade – Oswego) for “Olivia Dean”
In Computer Graphic Art, two second place awards were given to Allie Maynes (12th grade – Hannibal) for “Comfort,” and Caedman Hotchkiss (9th grade – Fulton) for “Animation Artwork.”
In Drawing A (pencil, graphite, charcoal), besides Best of Show, two second place awards were given to Madison Gregory (9th grade – Hannibal) for “Megan Fox” and Piper Humphrey (9th grade – Hannibal) for “Tyler, the Creator.” Honorable Mentions were awarded to Isabella Bailey (10th grade – Fulton) for “Portrait 5”, Seth Miner (10th grade – Fulton) for “Portrait 4”, and Sean Quail (12th grade – Fulton) for “Hallway.”

In Drawing B/C (colored pencil, Prismacolor, markers, pastels, pen/ink), a first place was given to Cal Altman (9th grade – Phoenix) for “The Avatar Concept” (above). Two second place awards went to Joseph Smith (12th grade – Fulton) for “GoKo,” and Elizabeth Woods (10th grade – Fulton) for “Hidden Texture.” Honorable Mentions went to Lylah Bickham (9th grade – Phoenix) for “Crumble,” and Yael Hunley (12th grade – Oswego) for “The Extinguishing.”
In Drawing E (mixed media drawing --using more than one drawing medium), an Honorable Mention was awarded to Alyssa Hatter (11th grade – Hannibal) for “Raven.”

In Drawing F (Scratchboarding and Wood burning), a first place was awarded to Gabriella Rodriguez (10th grade – Fulton) for “Tiger" (above).
In Mixed Media Painting, two Honorable Mentions were awarded to Marnie Crough (12th grade – Hannibal) for “Iroah,” and to Elisabeth Jordan (10th grade – Phoenix) for “Sunflower Patch.”

In Photography, first place was awarded to Callie Coats (10th grade – Hannibal) for “The Ocean” (above). Second place award was given to Peyton Garbus (11th grade – Hannibal) for “Frog.” Honorable Mentions were awarded Madisyn Ames (11th grade – Hannibal) for “Dahlias,” Samuel Cianfarano (12th grade – Phoenix) for “Descent,” Clara Duger (10th grade – Hannibal) for “The Beach,” Michael Farnham (12th grade – Phoenix) for “Freddy, My Love and “Ocean Court,” Asher Holmes (11th grade – Hannibal) for “Icicles,” Natalie Lofstrom (10th grade – Oswego) for “Millipede”, Aylonna Loveall (10th grade – Hannibal) for “Strawberry Splash,” and Daniel Svitak Jr. (10th grade – Hannibal) for “Kings Reflection.”
In Pottery, two second places were given to Becca Peterson (11th grade – Phoenix) for “Pitcher,” and Abigail Spilman (11th grade – Fulton) for “1st Impression.” Honorable Mentions were given to Abygale Farley (10th grade – Fulton) for “The De-Composed Thinker,” and Kevin Seabury (11th grade – Fulton) for “Gum Gum Fruit.”
In Printmaking, an Honorable Mention was given to Justin Wallace (12th grade – Fulton) for “Garfield.”

A Special Award was given by FAA President Kathryn Mihalek and Art Scene Director Bonnie McClellan for a Pottery entry by Jaynee Barrow (10th grade – Phoenix) entitled “Pickle Pitcher" (above).
