Born in Oswego, Gary was the son of the late Alfred and Violet (Hill) Donahue and a graduate of Oswego High School.
Gary was predeceased by his loving wife, Bobby Jo Donahue, who passed away 20 years ago. They were married for 33 years and made their home in Liverpool, where they enjoyed their home along the Seneca River and shared many wonderful memories together.
He was also predeceased by his brother Alfred (Dunk) Donahue.
Gary was employed by Carrier in Syracuse for 25 years before retiring. He will be remembered by many for his contagious laugh and wonderful sense of humor.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed collecting knives.
He is survived by his three children, Crystal Morales (Frank Morales) of Portville, N.Y.; Matthew Donahue (Mara Donahue) of Baldwinsville; and Michele Donahue (fiancé Scott Redden) of Baldwinsville; three sisters, Lilia Richardson, Pamela Powers, and Sally Donahue, several nephews and five beautiful grandchildren, Christian, Julian, Kyle, Isabella, and Ethan.
Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Dowdle Funeral Home in Oswego. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m.
