With the 2013 Harborfest a thing of the past, the wheels are already in motion for some of the things associated with the 2014 festival next summer.

The brand new website banner display not only shows off some great photos from the 2013 event, but it also shows off the formal theme for the 2014 festival.
Harborfest 2014 will commemorate the bicentennial of the "Battle of Fort Oswego," which was a part of the War of 1812 and fought in May of 1814 on the shores and in the harbor of Oswego. Keeping the focus on the harbor for the festival, executive director Steve Fulton has already received commitments from several tall ships to be an integral part of the 27th Harborfest in 2014.
The festival's theme has already been captured by a 2013 Oswego High School graduating senior for the "Official Poster Design" for the 2014 festival. That design will be revealed in January 2014 with the new poster itself along with apparel featuring the design, as the festival begins the countdown at the halfway point on the calendar between festivals each year.
Harborfest owes a special thanks to Oswego High School art teacher Melissa Martin and her class from this past academic year to not only produce the 2013 poster and transportation button designs, by Emily Henderson and Chrissy Abare respectively, but also to create the 2014 design one year ahead of schedule. The work that these students turn out annually for consideration in the poster design contest is nothing short of amazing.
Harborfest is looking forward to the 2014 festival with a focus on tall ships and the rich history that the port of Oswego has as a legacy.
Look for the poster design in January and many more announcements about the 2014 festival which will be held July 24-27, 2014.
