Write a commentAs you can imagine, the COVID-19 pandemic has forced the Maritime Museum to cancel all of our in-person 2020 events and educational programs.
As such, we’re working to develop interactive educational programming that allows us to continue engaging our diverse community. The Maritime Museum is pleased to announce our new, fun, educational program for adventurers, families, and kids alike – Sailor Sam’s Canal to Shore Challenge.
Individuals, families, and groups purchase Sailor Sam’s Canal to Shore Challenge Logbook which guides you in identifying 23 historic points of interest along the shores of Lake Ontario, around Oswego Harbor, and along the Oswego Canal. Participants take a selfie with Flat Sailor Sam (provided in your purchase package) at each location using each point of interest as a back drop. Each selfie is then sent to the Museum to be featured on the Museum’s Canal to Shore Facebook page, facebook.com/canaltoshore.
