Call Ahead to Make an Appointment –
Staff of the Oswego County Office for the Aging (OFA) and NY Connects Program continue to visit communities around the county to offer program information and application assistance to those who are unable to visit the Oswego office.
“In an effort to make help as accessible as possible, we continue to offer monthly community hours across the county,” said OFA Director Sara Sunday. “These meeting times are a great way to get in-person information and assistance at a location near you.”
September community office hours include:
- Fulton Public Library, 160 S. First St., Tuesday, Sept. 9, 1 to 3 p.m.
- Hannibal Public Library, 162 Oswego St., Thursday, Sept. 11, 1 to 3 p.m.
- Phoenix Public Library, 34 Elm St., Friday, Sept. 12, 1 to 3 p.m.
- Pulaski Public Library, 4917 N. Jefferson St., Monday, Sept. 22, 10 a.m. to noon.
- Sandy Creek Town Hall, 1922 Harwood Dr., Tuesday, Sept. 23, 10 a.m. to noon
- Central Square Library, 637 S. Main St., Wednesday, Sept. 24, 10 a.m. to noon
- Mexico Public Library, 3269 Main St., Thursday, Sept. 25, 10 a.m. to noon.
- Amboy Town Hall, 822 NYS Rte. 69, Friday, Sept. 26, 1 to 3 p.m.
OFA farmers’ market coupons will also be available to eligible seniors at community office hours while supplies last. The coupons can only be used to buy locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables from participating farmers and farmers’ markets. They are not redeemable in supermarkets. The value of each booklet is $25.
Each older adult in a household is eligible to receive a booklet if they meet age and income requirements. They must be aged 60 or over and their gross income must be at or below 185% of federal poverty guidelines, which is $2,413 monthly for a one-person household or $3,261 monthly for a two-person household.
