William J. Harrington, 91, of Oswego, passed away on September 28, 2026.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Francis and Dorothy (Carr) Harrington.
Bill was a graduate of Oswego High School and proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army.
He was the proud owner and manager of Lupe’s Sports Shop, where he spent many years running the popular local business. Bill enjoyed laughing, making friends, and creating lasting memories with the many people he met throughout the years. He retired in 1998 when the shop closed.
Bill enjoyed bowling, trips to the casinos, and sports of all kinds. In his younger years, he was a great athlete and enjoyed playing baseball. Most of all, he adored his family and cherished the time he spent with them. He especially loved watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in sports and was always their biggest fan.
Bill is survived by his loving daughters, Kathy (John) Klefbeck and Michelle (James) Larkin; six grandchildren, Brian (Melissa) Klefbeck, Jesse (Tracy) Klefbeck, Patricia Larkin, A.J. Larkin, Tyler Larkin, and Steven Larkin; five great-grandchildren, Dylan Klefbeck, Cooper Klefbeck, Henry Klefbeck, Isabella Currier, and Timothy Currier; and his brother, Francis (Rosanna) Harrington, along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Patricia (Reitz) Harrington, who passed away in 2021; and his sisters, Adele Marie Snow and Elizabeth Smith.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, October 9, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street, Oswego. A funeral service will follow at noon. Burial will take place in St. Peter Cemetery.
