Small Fire Reported at Bristol Hill Landfill Today

Oswego County Department of Solid Waste reported a small fire at its Bristol Hill Landfill Facility this morning.

Staff noticed smoke coming from an area that has been inactive for the last few months and discovered the fire.

Landfill personnel and volunteers from local fire departments were able to douse the flames with minimal disruption to facility operations.

The landfill and transfer station will continue to operate as normal while an investigation takes place to find the source of the flames.
