Born in Farmington, Virginia, He was the son of the late Jacob and Hulda (Schallow) Vogel Sr.
He received his Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from the University of Virginia.
He was employed with Stone & Webster and later retired from the Home Depot in Ithaca.
Mr. Vogel was a veteran of the United States Navy serving from 1968-1970.
He loved spending time with his cats, watching the Business Channel, birdwatching and following the weather.
He is survived by his wife of forty-five years, the former Patricia Wilson, his stepson, Jesse O'Day of Oswego, two sisters, Mary Moncure and Brenda Vogel.
He was predeceased by his sister, Julia Oertal.
Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.
