Write a commentJeanette L. Vaughn, of Oswego passed away Saturday May 30, 2026, at the Oswego Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born in Buffalo and was the daughter of the late Francis and Barbara Hain Bassett.
Mrs. Vaughn had been employed for many years as a teacher’s aide at Leighton Elementary School.
She was the widow of the late Robert L. Vaughn who died March 20, 2024.She was always proud of his service in the US Army and his service during the Korean War.
Jeanette is survived by one daughter, Kathleen (Richard) Delaney of Oswego, one brother, William Bassett of East Aurora, NY, three grandchildren Sean Delaney of Atlanta, GA, Jenna Nakoski (Michael) of Syracuse, NY and Maia Delaney (Ed Tagliareni) of Osweg0, one great grandchild, Mikey Nakoski.
Jeanette had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. She especially enjoyed telling her grandchildren funny things and shocking them a bit by being inappropriate.
Committal services will take place Wednesday, June 3 at 11AM in All Saints Mausoleum, St. Peter’s Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.
Contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Arrangements are by the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
