Joan Marie Reidy, 94 of Syracuse and formerly of Oswego, died Wednesday evening in St. Joseph's Hospital with her family by her side.

She was born in Oswego and was the daughter of the late John H. and Anna Mercier Reidy.

Joan resided in Syracuse, NY where she was lovingly cared for and enjoyed life with all the outing opportunities that her care givers provided. She was involved in her community working for the Salvation Army where she retired after many years. Joan was very social and enjoyed her BINGO trips, attending concerts and sporting events. During the warmer months, Joan could be found on the front porch enjoying the weather and greeting passerbyers. Joan especially enjoyed her trips to Oswego to visit with her family for gatherings and celebrations. In recent years, she always looked forward to her birthday celebration with her brother, nieces and nephews.

Miss Reidy is survived by her brother William Reedy of Oswego and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by two brothers, Jack Reidy and ,David Reidy, two sisters Betty Ann Budke and Mary Lue Ferguson.

Calling hours will be Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 4-6PM at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home with a service to follow at 6PM.

Spring burial will take place in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
