Born in Ogden, Utah, he was a son of Jack Stokes and Roxy Haney and had attended schools in Utah. He was a volunteer firefighter and worked at Rainbow Signs in Mississippi. He was an avid hunter.
Surviving besides his parents are his wife of 15 years, the former, Victoria Sova, eight children, Brandon, Chanda, Katlin, Shannon, Nicole, Megan, Lacy and Ryan, one brother, Jason Stokes of Texas, a sister, Dafney Adams of Utah and 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services are private and at the convenience of the family.
