Cooper Pauldine, a sixth-grade student at Kingsford Park School, is among 24 students from across Central New York who have advanced to the Final Regional Round of the Scripps Spelling Bee, hosted by The Post-Standard.

Advancing to this level is a significant accomplishment for all participating students, but Cooper stands out as the only student from Oswego County to earn a spot in this year’s regional competition.

This marks Cooper’s third consecutive year placing at the school level and his first time advancing to the regional round, demonstrating his dedication, perseverance and academic growth.

"I'm proud to be a representative of Oswego," Cooper said, adding that he credits Ms. Kostoroski, a reading teacher in the school library, with helping spark his interest in spelling.

The Final Regional Round will take place March 21 at Syracuse University, where top spellers from across the region will compete for a chance to advance in the national competition.
