The team has been busily refining their robot to compete against the best in the world. They are making slight modifications to make the robot as strong, light, and fast as possible. They have made significant programming improvements to their robot so that it can perform autonomously in the game "Skyrise".
The team has also been working very hard to raise the money needed to fund the trip. There will be a fundraising event held at Port City Cafe & Bakery and The Red Sun Fire Roasting Company all day March 19, 2015. These restaurants have agreed to present Freezing Code with 20% of revenue for all patrons presenting the Freezing Code Flyer to the server at the time of order. The flyer will also be available at the following local business establishments: Oswego YMCA, Port City Copy Center, Wayne Drug Store, Connection Point Book Store.
Other ways to support this team's effort is to visit their donation site online: gofundme.com/mh089s. The team also continues to collect bottles and cans (Great Lakes Redemption Centers under the Freezing Code Robotics Club accounts) and has just completed a pizza fundraiser. Presently, the team has raised about 50% of funds needed due to fundraising efforts and generous contributions from supporters in the Oswego community. The club needs about $9,000 to send their 7 members and two coaches to KY as well as continue support for the club next year.
