Mildred (Millie) C. Wellington, 89, a long resident of Scriba, NY, passed away peacefully October 30, 2016, at the Oswego Hospital with family by her side.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of (late) Mr and Mrs Eugene and Catherine (Harrington) Hogan. At the age of three she moved to Mechanic Falls, Maine to be raised by her loving (late) Aunt Anna and Uncle Victor Bloom.
Upon her uncle’s death, she and her aunt moved back to Oswego, NY where she met her future husband, Jimmie.
During the WWII Millie worked at Springfield Arms gun factory. Once back in Oswego she worked at the Oswego chocolate works and then as a homemaker. In her forties she went back to school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at the Oswego Hospital in pediatrics.
Millie was an active member of the Sacred Heart Church and founding member of the choir, Scriba Senior Citizens, Scriba bunco club, and also founding member of the Scriba Fire Auxiliary. She enjoyed her time with family at their camp on Lake Ontario, traveling, especially to Maine, and time spent with her loving husband of 70 years. She enjoyed life to the fullest and would playfully tease those around her. She promised herself when she had a family of her own they would know they were loved. She fulfilled that promise.

Wellington, four children, six grandchildren and one great granddaughter, a daughter Sharon (Jerry) Lindberg of Manlius,NY and their sons: Ja Lindberg of Buffalo, NY, and Scott (Allison) Lindberg of Burlington, Vermont, a son Daniel (Deborah) Wellington of Hampton, Virginia, and their daughter Danielle (Fontana) Fluke and daughter Madeline Clair of Fairport, NY; and son Andrew Wellington of Fairfax, Vermont, a son Thomas Wellington of Clearwater, Florida, a daughter Mary (David) DePentu of Oswego, NY, and their daughters Kathryn (Gregory) Waite of Baldwinsville, NY; and Samantha (Joshua) Killion of Buffalo, NY.
