This summer, the North Country Library System will be launching a Summer Library Adventure, a regional scavenger hunt-style program that encourages people to connect with libraries through a variety of activities.
The program begins July 1 and runs through September 2.
Participants will have 10 weeks to complete any 10 of 66 activities on a Summer Library Adventure Checklist to be entered to win a prize. The checklist includes activities that can be done in the library, at home, or online, and are geared toward a variety of ages so that everyone can join in.
"We're very excited to offer this program to North Country residents," says NCLS Executive Director Paulette Roes. "Regular library patrons will have the chance to use the library in new ways, and people who haven't visited a library in a while can discover how programs and services have grown and changed."
Printable checklists and additional details about the Summer Library Adventure can be found at ncls.org/summer.
Completed checklists must be returned to a patron's home library by Friday, September 6, or mailed to the North Country Library System by Monday, September 16.
Twenty-five winners will receive an enameled pin of the iconic NCLS cat; four winners will receive a $25 gift card to the river's end bookstore in Oswego (redeemable online), and one grand prize winner will receive the pin, a $50 gift card to the river's end bookstore, and a basket of swag from North Country libraries. Winners will be drawn at random and notified in mid-September.
