OHS Students Nominated for Landmark Theatre Awards

The Landmark Theatre will announce their inaugural Syracuse High School Theatre Awards at a red-carpet event to be held on May 30th at the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse.

Oswego High School is one of the 24 high schools in Central New York that will be featured in the event. These schools represent more than 800 student performers. The red-carpet event is Tony Awards-inspired, and welcomes high school performers, cast, crew, and orchestra members. The evening will celebrate and honor the achievements and accomplishments by these area schools in their seasonal productions. A total of fourteen awards will be presented at the ceremony, along with live performances to add to the excitement.

Oswego High School Drama Club has been nominated in a variety of categories for their spring musical production of Broadway Musical, Pippin that was held this past February at the Ralph Faust Theatre in Oswego.

Oswego High School students performed the comical story of young Prince Pippin, as he ventured through war, love, and rebellion. Main characters of the cast included Matt Spaulding as the Leading Player, Kyle Osmun as Pippin, Mark Forger as King Charlemagne, Olivia Flint as Fastrada, Kaylee Baldwin as Catherine, Ryan Smith as Lewis, Rachel Leotta as Berthe, Matt Oldenburg as Theo, and Connor Mulcahey as Young Pippin.
The ensemble cast included Brynn Adner, Ana Alcasid, Nathaniel Ahart, Will Bandla, Haley Baker, Will Bandla, Mary Bornheimer, Lauren Boshart, Emily Bradshaw, Kate Breezee, Crystal Brooks, Nolan Callahan, Amber Canbek, Matthew Caraccioli, Olivia DeLorenzo, Isabel Dunning, Brooke Farnsworth, Sarah Fitzgibbons, Matt Gill, Ryan Gimeno, Taylor Green, Hannah Griffin, Natalie Griffin, Kristin Gurule, Taylor Hamer, Mary Hirna, Lauren Jones, Leah Jones, Lisa Kanbur, Aidan McGreevy, Keelan McGreevy, Emily Oldenbug, Courtney Osmun, Ellie Page, Sierra Palmer, Jeremy Ruotolo, Katt Ruotolo, Paige Russ, Doug Schneider, Megan Shafer, Dakota Sinclair, Sam Spaulding, Abbi Stewart, Hannah Strzelinski, Leah Taylor, Faith Washington, and Trent Wilkinson.

The entire Oswego High School cast has been nominated by the Landmark Theatre Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble/Chorus. In addition, three students have been nominated individually for their performances. These students include Matt Spaulding for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role; Ryan Smith for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role; and Rachel Leotta for the Rising Star Award.
