Write a comment The Oswego Music Hall is featuring a free Open Mic Night Friday, Oct. 18, hosted by popular Oswego singer / songwriter John McConnell.
Doors open and sign-ups begin at 7 p.m. for 10-minute slots and performances will follow the order of the sign-up. Light refreshments will be available for purchase.
McConnell is an Oswego-based singer/songwriter whose soulful voice and rhythmic guitar style combines to create a unique solo acoustic show that sll demographics can enjoy. His folky-funky-jazzy style has a sound of its own and his songwriting speaks for itself.
This Ontario, N.Y., native has been active on the Upstate and Central New York music scene since 2004.
McConnell is a founding and current member of the regionally-recognized band, Turnip Stampede, whose debut album, "Can You Hear What This Looks Like?," was nominated for a SAMMY Award (Syracuse Area Music Award) in 2011.
The Oswego Music Hall is located at the McCrobie Civic Center, 41 Lake St., Oswego.
