The Oswego Public Library is proud to announce the release of its 2025-2026 Community Report, detailing how the library has strengthened its role as a hub for education and community connection over the past year.

The report showcases a rise in in-person visits and continued investment in digital resources and specialized community spaces, emphasizing the importance of the services libraries offer to their communities nationwide.

Key Highlights of the 2025-2026 Report:

  • Increased Item Check-Outs: Item check-outs increased by 5.2%, reflecting an overall increase in patronage and usage of library materials.
  • New Community Programming: The library focused on expanding Teen Events to target a gap in programs for patrons ages 13 to 17. A total of 394 programs were offered for all ages, with a 25% increase in attendance.
  • Investment in Infrastructure: The report highlights the installation of two new boilers to keep the library warm in the winter, as well as the local history room becoming available to the community for meeting room reservations.
  • Media Collection Development: In 2025, the Oswego Public Library became the only library in the North Country Library System to offer video games, totaling over 100 PS5 and Switch games for patrons to enjoy. Along with this, the library has expanded its collection of Audiobooks for kids by offering Tonies.

The 2025-2026 Community Report is available online at oswegopubliclibrary.org and physically at the Oswego Public Library's front desk.

From the Oswego Public Library Director Luke Connor, "Thank you to the members of the Oswego community for your ongoing support of the Library. The staff and I are looking forward to another amazing year with you all."

The 2026 budget vote will be on Tuesday, May 19th, from 9 am to 9 pm, with voting locations at the Oswego Town Hall, Scriba Fire Station, Elim Grace Church, and the Crisafulli Ice Rink.
