Oswego State rakes leaves for community

On Sunday, Oct. 27, the Oswego State athletics teams participated in the ninth annual Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Leaf Rake, raking 45 different lawns in Oswego. More than 390 student-athletes, 19 coaches, and four administrators participated.

Eighteen Laker teams were split up across Oswego with event starting at 11 a.m. and spanning throughout the morning.

This project is a part of an annual statewide community-service project by Student-Athlete Advisory Council chapters at all 11 SUNYAC institutions.

The aim of this project is to aid senior citizens in clearing their properties of leaves. SAAC's mission is to generate a student-athlete voice among Oswego's intercollegiate teams and to enhance school spirit within athletics. Members of SAAC were instrumental in the planning of the event.

A special thanks goes to Lowe's and Mark's Pizzeria for supplies and food for the student-athletes.
