Oswego Transfer Station Temporarily Closes After Fire Yesterday, Aug. 24

OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Solid Waste Department announced that there was a fire yesterday, Aug. 24, at its Oswego Transfer Station, located at 700 E. Seneca St.

The investigation is ongoing; however, officials can report that there have been no injuries at this time.

The site will be fully closed on Tuesday, Aug. 25 as they assess the damage to the main trash compactor building and attached trailer.

To accommodate the closure, the Bristol Hill Transfer Station, located at 3125 NYS Rte. 3, Fulton, will be open Aug. 25, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the weigh scales closing at 3:30 p.m.
