Write a commentPeter L. Parr, 68, a resident of Oswego, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at the Morningstar Care Center.
Peter was born in Oswego, the son of the late Cyril and Mary (Leighton) Parr. He was a life resident.
He was the husband of the late Cheryl (Tynan) Parr, who died in 2020.
He received his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Oswego.
Prior to his retirement, he had been employed in the maintenance department at SUNY-Oswego for many years.
Pete was an avid fan of the NY Mets and the NY Knicks. He loved to play golf with his friends. He also was very artistic and enjoyed sketching.
More than anything else, Pete loved spending time with family and all of his nieces and nephews. They always brought a smile to his face.
He is survived by two brothers, Cyril “Chip” (Judy) Parr of Smithfield, NC, and Eric (Marie) Parr of Baldwinsville; his nieces and nephews, Skip, Greg, Matthew, Melissa, Brian, Cris and Michael; and his several grandnieces and grandnephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a sister, Wendy Morales.
Calling hours will be held from 10:00 to noon on Monday, August 12th, with a funeral service to follow at noon at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
