The Pregnancy Care Center of Oswego County celebrated their 30th birthday on Thursday May 15th. The Center has been serving Oswego County since 1984 offering free confidential pregnancy tests, parenting classes and post abortion care. The Center is a non-profit organization supported by over 40 local churches as well as individual donors. The mission statement is `Promoting a culture of LIFE in our community.`
On May 15th the PCC celebrated with a dinner and fundraising banquet at the Lake Ontario Conference Center. John O'Brien, who help found the center received a standing ovation as he took the stage. Other speakers included Carmella Smith and Ben Titus who presented a portion of their middle school prevention program, Jen Vrooman who is a current board member, Pastor Dan LeClair from Victory Bible Church which is the current home of the PCC extension site in Central Square, and Jill Pelkey, Executive Director.
The evening included an array of over 40 different raffle baskets donated by local businesses and members of the community. Picture boards commemorated each decade of the Center's existence. The evening was a huge success thanks to the many volunteers, staff and board members who worked diligently to put the evening together."
