Write a commentRaymond Earl Wilmott, 93 of Oswego died Monday evening at the Manor at Seneca Hill.
Known to most people as “Earl”, he was born in Oswego and was the son of the late Austin and Catherine White Wilmott.
He was the husband of the late Geraldine Babcock Wilmott who died in January of 2008.
Earl was employed for many years in the maintenance department at SUNY Oswego and was well known for his years of service at Romney Fieldhouse, he retired in 1990.
He was a member of the Oswego State Blue Line Club Hockey Hall of Fame and was a former member of the American Legion Post #268 in Oswego.
He is survived by one daughter, Carol E. (John) McHenry of Oswego, Robert C. (Martha) Wilmott of Oswego, Richard E. (Cheryl) Wilmott of Allentown, PA, one sister Margaret Fitzgerald of Oswego, eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife he was predeceased by two sisters, Louise Vivlamore and Dorothy Merritt, and three brothers James White, Edward Wilmott and Francis Cahill.
Calling hours will be held Friday June 4, from 9:30-11AM with a service to begin at 11AM at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
