Write a commentRobert L. Swan Sr., 87, a resident of West Albany Street, in Oswego, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at St. Luke Health Services.
Born in Minetto,he was a son of the late Charles and Annabell (McLaughlin) Swan.
He was a U.S. Marine Veteran who served during World War II.
He worked at Cyclotherm as a boilermaker and later worked and retired from Alcan as a fabricator.
He enjoyed building and fabricating things. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Surviving are his three sons, Donald Swan and Delina West, David R. (Cindy) Swan and Robert L. (Amy) Swan Jr., all of Oswego; five grandchildren, Joshua, David, Sarah, Robert III and Madalynn Swan; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Rose (Sperino) Swan; a brother, Fred Charles Swan, and sisters, Ann Schmidt, Mabel Gresham and Lillian Swan.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 22, from St. Joseph's Church.
Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m., Thursday, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., in Oswego.
